In its first edition, Sony Sports won the bid for TV broadcasting rights worth 82000 crore Indian rupees. Sony Sports won rights for the 2008-2016 cycle. Later, Star Sports India won the bid for TV streaming rights for 2.55 billion dollars for the 2017-2022 cycle. Now this time, IPL sold its rights for digital streaming and TV broadcasting separately.
