Shubman Gill the rising star from India is now new number 1 ODI batter as he surpassed Pakistani star Babar Azam. After Sachin Tendulkar, Mahindra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli, he is fourth Indian to acheive this milestone. He opener batter in Indian Cricket Team who is making his mark in early days of his career. He is doing very well in ongoing World Cup in his own country and giving India strong start of innings with Rohit Sharma.
He made his ODI debut on January 31, 2019 against New Zealand in Hamilton. He has played 42 ODI matches for India until now and scored 2187 runs with average of 60.
Babar Azam remained number one 1 ODI batter for 927 days, most days as number one after Sir Vivian Richards as he remained for 1748 days on top position.
