Baber Azam and Virat Kohli Likely to Play Together in Same Team

Cricket lovers, get ready for biggest match in coming days. Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is planning for Afro-Asia Cup. ACC will make final decision after meeting in future near. It will be lovely to watch two best players of cricket playing together. This tournament is played between Best XIs of Asian and African nations players. African continent cricket playing nations player will play for one team against Asian continent players. We can expect lot of quality entertainment if this happens.

Tournament was started back in 2005 and its second edition was played in 2007. After 2007 edition tournament was halted. Now ACC is planning to start 3rd edition of Afro-Asia Cup. ACC president Jay Shah is passionate about 3rd edition. Pakistani and Indian cricketers along with players from Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are ready to make history. Imagine Virat Kohli and Baber Azam playing for same team. Cricket fans could not wait more for this tournament. At one end Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah will surprise batters with their swing. Jasprit Bumrah and Muhammad Shami are to deliver bullet-like yorker.

Afro-Asian Cup 2005

First edition of Afro-Asia Cup was played in 2005. In first match Africa XI set the target of 198 for Asia XI. Asia Xi made only 196/10 runs in 49 over. Ashwell Prince was man of the match for his 78* runs on 113 balls. In second match, Asia XI made target of 267 runs for Africa XI. Africa XI was all out on 250 runs. Shoaib Akhtar was declared man of the match for his 2 wickets for 16 runs. Third match was ended without any results. Totally three matches was played between two teams. Tournament was played in South Africa. 

Afro-Asian Cup 2007

Second edition was played in India in 2007. Bangalore and Chennai were venues for three matches. Asia XI won all three matches. Asia XI batted first in all matches and Africa XI was unable to chase total. Shaun Pollock was highest run-scorer of tournament as he scored 223 runs in 3 matches with average of 111.50. Morne Morkel from South Africa was highest wicket-taker with 8 wickets in 3 matches.
