sportsman and gives them international level facilities. For this purpose they
also built many grounds for cricket and other sports. Today I will share with

1. Eden Gardens Kolkata
Eden Gardens Kolkata Stadium is
located in Kolkata, West Bangal, in India. It was established in 1864. It has
seating capacity of 68,000 after renovation before World Cup 2011 for cricket
lovers. It is also known as home of Indian cricket. In 1934 first match was
played here between India and England Test. It has also hosted many
international matches. Eden Gardens hosted World Cup 1987 final, World Cup 1996
semi-final and final of T20 World Cup 2016 which was played between England and
West Indies and West Indies ended as champions with Carlos Braithwaite’s 4
sixes in last over.
Eden Gardens witnessed record highest
individual score 264 in ODI against Sri Lanka in 2014 by Rohit Sharma. This stadium
is owned by Indian Army. It is home ground of Indian Premier League franchise
Kolkata Knight Riders owned by Shah Rukh Khan. It is also home ground of most
stylish left-hand batter Sourav Ganguly.
2. Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi
Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium was built
in 1883 in Delhi. It is second oldest cricket stadium of India. In 1948, first
ever match was played here between India West Indies. It has seating capacity
of 48,000 for cricket fans. It is managed by Delhi Cricket Association. Stadium
has hosted many historic matches. Anil Kumble took 10-wicket haul in single
test innings against Pakistan here. It is home ground of IPL Indian Premier
League franchise Delhi Capitals. This stadium was banned by ICC due to unfit
pitch in 2009. This was happened during an ODI match between India and Sri Lanka.
3. JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi
This stadium was built in 2011 in
Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. Ranchi stadium has seating capacity of 50,000 for
cricket lovers. This stadium has state-of-the-art infrastructure and has nine
pitches. This stadium is home ground of Jharkhand cricket team. Stadium was
inaugurated in 2013 and has hosted 2 matches of IPL so far.

4. M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore
This stadium is located in Shivaji
Nagar, Bangalore, Karnataka state, India. Chinnaswamy stadium was built in 1969
and has seating capacity of 40,000 for fans. It has state-of-the-art
infrastructure and facilities. The stadium was named after the former president
of BCCI, Mangalam Chinnaswamy. Stadium is home ground of IPL franchise Royal
Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Karnataka state Ranji team. This stadium has
own solar energy production. Stadium is owned by state of Karnataka.
This stadium is famous as Legendry West Indies batter Sir Viv Richards made debut here. In World Cup 1996 India and Pakistan played quarter-final here. This ground has small boundaries and very high-scoring matches are played here. This stadium is home of many famous Indian cricketers like Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid. Chinnaswamy stadium witnessed nail-biting match of India and Bangladesh in 2016 T20 World Cup which was won by India by 1 run.
5. MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai
This stadium is located in Chennai,
Tamil Nadu state, India. It is owned by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. It was
built in 1916 as it is third oldest cricket stadium of India. Its first name
was Madras Cricket Club and then renamed after the former BCCI president M.A
Chidmbaram. Stadium has seating capacity of 40,000 for cricket lovers. It is
home ground of Tamil Nadu cricket team and IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings
(CSK).
In 1934, first ever was played here between India
and England. India also registered their first Test victory in same ground in
1952. This stadium has record of first ever Ranji Trophy game played here.
Cricket lovers of Chennai are famous for their support for players and teams.
Pakistani batter Saeed Anwar recorded his highest individual score 194 in 1997 here.
Crowd gave standing ovation to Saeed Anwar for this innings.
6. Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmadabad
Narendra Modi stadium is located in
Ahmadabad, Gujarat state, India. It was established in 1982. It is biggest
cricket stadium of world. It has seating capacity of 132000 for cricket fans.
It is owned by Gujarat Cricket Association. Stadium was known as Sardar Patel
Stadium. In 2015, Gujarat Cricket Association decided to reconstruct stadium.
Their vision was to make it biggest cricket stadium of world. Reconstruction
cost was about 8 billion Indian Rupees. Gujarat government donated 50-acres land
for reconstruction.
Stadium was renamed after prime minister
of India Narendra Modi after reconstruction in 2021. It has six indoor practice
pitches and state-of-the-art floodlights. It has 4 entry points and dressing
rooms. Cricket lovers can enjoy 360-degree view here. It is home ground of IPL
franchise Gujarat Titans and WPL Women Premier League franchise Gujarat Giants.
Before its reconstruction, MCG Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia was biggest
cricket stadium in world. Sunil Gavaskar became first-ever cricketer to score 10,000
runs in Test in same venue.
7. Inderjit Sinhg Bindra Stadium, Mohali
IS Bindra stadium is located in Mohali,
Punjab state, India. It was established in 1993 and named after the former BCCI
president IS Bindra. Its cost was 25 crore Indian rupees and took 3 years to
complete. It is owned by Punjab Cricket Association and has seating capacity of
27,000 for cricket fans. India and South Africa played first match here in 1993
during Hero Cup. It witnessed semi-final of World Cup 2011 between Pakistan and
India. It has pacer-friendly pitches but slowed by time. It is home ground of
IPL franchise Punjab Kings and Punjab state team. It has hosted many
international historic matches. India has never lost a test match in Mohali
stadium.
8. Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad
It is located in Hyderabad,
Telangana state, India. It is owned by Hyderabad Cricket Association. It has
seating capacity of 60,000 for cricket lovers. It is named after former prime
minister of India Rajiv Gandhi. It was established in 2004 in 16 acres and became
fully ready in 2008. This stadium is home ground of IPL franchise Sunrisers
Hyderabad (SRH) and Hyderabad Cricket Association.
9. Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
It is located in Mumbai,
Maharashtra state, India. It was constructed in 1974 and has seating capacity
of 32,000 for fans. It is owned by Mumbai Cricket association. It is named
after a politician SK Wankhede who played major role for its construction in
only six months. He was secretary of Mumbai Cricket Association. It is home
ground for IPL franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) and Mumbai Ranji team.
First match was played here between
home team and West Indies in 1975. 2011 World Cup final was played here between
Sri Lanka and India. India became champions for second time in ODI World Cup.
Stadium was reconstructed before 2011 World Cup. It is also home of two Indian legends
Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin Tendulkar played his last
international match at Wankhede Stadium. Mumbai Cricket Association, IPL, and
BCCI headquarters also located in the premises of this stadium.
10. Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai
It is located in Churchgate,
Mumbai, Maharashtra state, India. It was established in 1937 by British
government. It has seating capacity of 50,000 for cricket fans. It is named
after former governor of Bombay, Lord Brabourne in British era. It is owned by
Cricket Club of India. It hosted first test match between India and West Indies
in 1948. Brabourne stadium faced many issues due to Mumbai Cricket Association.
It is second best cricket stadium in Mumbai after Wankhede stadium. It is now
hosting matches of WPL Women Premier League. Now stadium is also considered for
international matches after BCCI new policy.
